Hi. I'm Kyle and this is Jordan and we are visiting you on behalf of Google and their Local Business Referral Program. We are here to facilitate getting your business's information on Google maps and thus giving your customers a way to better locate your business and attract new clients by answering their potential questions regarding hours of operation and acceptable payment types before they ever leave their house.

So apparently Safari's color mapping is this much better than Firefox. But I heard through the grapevine that FF is going to take care of all us FF users and fix that immediately with the next build. Until then it looks we are going to be a little duller than the Safari boys.

Now I'm a Fanboy...

Ravenwolf Designs

So my friend Laura (a.k.a. Ravenwolf) has decided to go pro as an artist in the field of fantasy (not Jenna Jameson, think Frodo and elves etc.) and she wanted a little help with a business card.  I was messing around with some things and came up with these just for fun.

I kind of dig them. She is going to put her Ravenwolf twist on them. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

The reaction to Apple's announcements regarding their new iProducts today varied based on who you talked and what time you talked to them. A lot of people were super excited when the first products were being announced (screen on the Nano? Brilliant!) By the time the hoopla saw the release of the iPod Touch (does it smell like Burberry?) the fanboys were in a frenzy. Then, as these things often do, reality set back and once the wrapping paper was cleaned up all the shiny new toys sort bathed in their true colors and the excitement gave way to questions. Not a single product in the iLine comes without some criticism. Essentially, there is still no one gadget to rule them all. These surely has something to do with the substantial drop in Apple's stock today (and with Clancy's panicked text message "What the FUCK happened to Apple?"

I guess at this point all we can really do as consumers is to carefully weigh our options and head into the Apple stores, see what is cooking and get the device that best serves our needs until there is a that one Jesus Phone that I have heard so much about, yet never seen. Maybe we should start calling it the Loch Ness Phone.

Or maybe we should call Google (whose stocked finished up nicely today).

Words cannot express how wonderful this phone looks to me. And it runs on java. I am one excited boy.

But this isn't that bad either...

flashplayer_225x50.jpg

Adobe launched its new Flash player in beta Monday. The new format (dubbed H.264) supports HD video. That is super exciting when you consider how well Flash CS3 Pro integrates the current video standards. I am excited to see what the people who have plenty of HD stock sitting around come up with. So go download the flash player from the Adobe Labs and while you are there you might have to take advantage of the other wonderful free software Adobe provides.

Amen.

Kid Learning Adobe InDesign: I don't know what I'm doing. I wish I had a teacher that I could ask any question and he would show me how to do it.

Me: Try Jesus.

LBR

So I took some time off to reflect. Ahhh. Reflection over, back to the regular blogging.

After a few weeks of patiently waiting for it, I was accepted by Google to be part of the Local Business Referral Program (LBR). I get to go up to unsuspecting small businesses and harass them for a bit about letting post all their info onto Google Maps. And the price for such a burden? $10!!!! Easiest $10 on the planet. My only question is, what if its not a local business? What counts? Attorneys? Who knows. I am going to make the call to Google and find out. Maybe I could get Larry and Sergi on the phone. I will post some photos as I am sure that hilarity will ensue.

Speaking of posting photos, I ran off and left the camera from the week IN Los Angeles. What a rookie mistake. I blame it on the insane amount of booze with a chaser of drama. More like a keg of drama at the open bar that is my life.

Other than that, we got a spiffy new client in Blair O'neal. For those that don't know, she is a former Arizona State golfer turned model and her new portfolio / website will be available very soon for perusing and general drooling.

Here is some amazing linkage.

Check out The Turning Gate for some wonderful examples of the automerge feature in PS CS3. I have a pretty legit one myself of the Hollywood Hills that I should post. But until then, check this out!

I ran across a blog for Brent Simon, a freelance designer who does some of the amazing work over at Go Media. Go See His Work.

Last but certainly least is my new facebook friend, graphic designer Nik Ainley and his site Shinybinary. Get over there and get awed.
